Preschool Curriculum for Teachers, Homeschool, Child-Daycare, and Early Learning Digital Resources
January a month filled with lots of snowy activities. The children learn about the winter weather and how to stay warm. We explore a few Arctic Animals and how to stay healthy.
Warm WinterWeek One: During the first week of January we have lots of playing with mittens, scarves, winter hats and boots. We learn all about winter weather. The children read the story The Jacket I wear in the snow and make our dream sweaters during craft time. Mid-week we do some activities surrounding the Letter M and have fun with mitten crafts. Day four we play a number toss game and make a six sided snowflake on Number 6 day. We finish our week with a winter wear day.

Day 3: The Moose
Day 4: Shape: Triangle
Day 5: Penguins
Week Two: Our second week we have fun learning about Polar bears, The Moose and Penguins. On day three we make a winter snowsuit and do some activities that help us learn about the letter W. The shape of the triangle is introduced on day four. We play in shaving cream to help us practice writing a triangle shape. We go on a triangle search looking for triangle shaped items to fill our bags.

Week Three: Our third week we get a little colder as we learning all about snow. The children do many activities in the snow, making a snowman, a snowflake and experimenting with ice. Brrr... Midweek we learn about the color blue when we take a blue walk. During craft time we make a blue collage and learn how to make blue crystals in science.

Week Four: We finish up this month’s preschool studying community helper, The Doctor. We come to know the job a doctor has in helping us stay healthy and help us when were sick. Mid-week we do some activities surrounding the Letter Z. By the end of the month we learn how exercising is important and eating the right foods help us to stay healthy. We finish up by working on January monthly concepts booklet.
